EVMotor Controller HIL Test System

Electric motor controller unit controls the performance, start and stops of the motor, selecting forward or reverse rotation, selecting and regulating the speed, regulating or limiting the torque, and protecting against overloads and electrical faults.

The MCU HIL test system allows user to simulate the battery pack, power electronics switches, motor models on FPGA for high processing speeds and position of the motor to the motor controller unit(MCU) in a closed-loop environment. Then the system acquires PWM signals at very high sampling rate, measure and process on FPGA with power electronics circuits. The system read CAN messages from the MCU to validate against the simulated parameters.

Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test platform based on NI PXI Real-Time Controller, Communication & IO modules, NI LabVIEW software, NI VeriStand software and rest of the system simulation along with fault conditions includes open, short and ground faults, temperature simulations for hybrid and electric-vehicle applications.
